Principal’s Note
Open House/Curriculum Night
We hope you can join us next Wednesday, October 4th, for our school’s annual Open House/Curriculum Night. All children and siblings are welcome, but the event is geared towards adults. We will gather at 5:15 PM in the gym for an introduction of all staff and then offer two classroom sessions. Please choose one session to attend.
Session #1:5:30-6 PM Session #2 6:15-6:45 PM.
The goals of this event include:
- Fostering an adult classroom community
- Sharing more about staff background/interests
- Sharing classroom routines and goals
- Sharing grade level experiences (games, mini-lessons, materials, etc)
Thank you to all of the folks who shared more about their career with the survey below. Over the course of this school year we want to expose our students to a variety of career options and types of jobs. Each week we’d like to highlight a job of a family at our school. Please consider adding your job to this link below:

Preorder Portraits
Yuen Lui Studio will photograph individual portraits at Daniel Bagley Elementary on Thursday, October 5.
Families can preorder photos here: 2023-24 Daniel Bagley Elementary Picture Day 10/5 (a separate order is required for each student, including siblings)
Print portrait orders will be shipped to the school in approximately three weeks after picture day.
Digital orders will be sent via email from no-reply@imagequix.com in approximately two-three weeks after the picture day (use no-reply@imagequix.com to search your inbox/spam folders).
PTA and Volunteer News
Lunch and Office Volunteers Needed:
Thanks so much for your time and consideration for volunteering in the lunchroom or office from 10:30-12:30!
Try Ultimate Frisbee!
3rd, 4th and 5th graders are welcome to open practices on Thursday October 5th and Tuesday October 17th on the green turf field from 2:30-3:30pm. Coaches will lead a few drills and games just to get a sense for this high-flying, coed sport; absolutely no sports experience necessary. Write to Ben Wiggins benlwiggins@gmail.com with any questions.
Move-a-thon
Our Move-a-Thon is this Friday, October 6th! We are looking forward to a fun and rewarding event! It looks like it’s going to be good weather this Friday at this point – please make sure your child is wearing comfortable clothes and shoes!
Please join us for an all-school assembly at 2:10 to hear the winners announced and cheer on your student!
As of Monday morning our families have donated 25% ($12,306) of the PTA’s $50,000 goal!
