Family Monday Message, January 8, 2024

Happy Monday Families,

graphic microphone

January is an exciting month for elementary schools because it marks the beginning of Open Enrollment for new families. We use this time to share and affirm all of the wonderful aspects of our school with prospective new families. If you know of families considering Bagley Elementary, please share this information with them. Prospective Families Tours We will host family tours and information sessions on Monday, January 22nd at 9 AM and 6 PM in the library.

Parking Lot Routines Feedback and Next Steps

Thanks for your input on our Drop off/Pick Up routines to improve our safety and efficiency. We had 50 families across all grade levels respond. We will work on addressing the suggestions this month, although substantial construction improvements may take much longer. Some trends we saw:

  • 50% of the families wanted parking to remain in place for a variety of reasons.
  • Many families requested that we ask for:
    • RIGHT TURN ONLY when leaving the parking lot.
    • Improved ONE WAY signage and NO PARKING in the loop signage.
    • Staff to support the flow of traffic
  • Families also noted that the entrance to the lot is very narrow and there is not a clear path to walk from Aurora to the back gate (without unsafely cutting through cars).

Nectar News

The Nectar News is shared with students every Monday to educate and celebrate Bagley student news, identity, and expectations.

Appreciations

Each week we share appreciations for our staff and adult community at Bagley in the Nectar News video. We would love it if families wanted to take some time to share a shout out at this link. Bagley Appreciations
