Staff Appreciation Week

You probably already know how grateful I am to lead a building filled with such compassionate, thoughtful and experienced staff. Next week, let’s make sure our whole community lets them know too! The PTA and our school will have fun events and goodies to celebrate staff appreciation week.  Please also consider writing a surprise note to your child’s teacher and other staff at school for next week. Our Staff Appreciation flyer will be sent home this week to get you started. 

Spring into Action family night, this Wednesday, 5:30-7:30 PM

Thanks so much to all of the families that have donated and signed up to participate in our 2nd Annual Spring into Action Night, May 1st from 5:30-7:30. If you can’t join, consider donating items to our care packs and more. Follow this link to donate items or time to the Spring Auction. We will be putting together Care Packs for Aurora Commons and making PB&J Sandwiches for Operation Nightwatch.

Second Step Units

Your child’s teacher will be sharing the Child Protection Unit or Bullying Prevention Unit over the coming month. Please take a look at the Second Step CPU (K-3) or Second Step BPU (4-5) sites to learn more about these mandatory units.

Yearbooks for All

Thanks to all of the families that have purchased their yearbooks and donated yearbooks for others. We have about 50 % of our orders in already! If you haven’t yet, please place your order and return this flyer to school.

Our yearbook offers an opportunity for every student to feel like a valued member  of our school. When yearbooks are passed out to each class the last week of school we want  ALL STUDENTS to feel included. Similar to our yearly school shirts, every student will receive a yearbook.  To offset the cost of the yearbook and make it equitably accessible to everyone, please consider purchasing an ad page and/or making a donation.

Construction Notice

The Seattle Department of Transportation has sent us a construction notice for a new crosswalk being installed across Winona at N 76^th Street. This will be helpful for safe pedestrian access between Green Lake and Daniel Bagley. Work is scheduled to begin in May of 2024 and is expected to last 6-8 days.  You can find more information on our Seattle Department of Transportation website: Green Lake Outer Loop – Transportation | seattle.gov

Bike Rodeo, May 11th

Please join us for the PTA sponsored Bike Rodeo on Sat, May 11 from 10am – 12pm.  Bring your bike and join us in a morning full of fun with an obstacle course, bike decorating station and learning about safety on the road.  We can’t wait to see everyone there.

Bagley Arts Festival, Friday, May 17th

We are excited to start sharing details for our Bagley Arts Festival. The band, orchestra, and choir will perform. And we will have lots of exploratory stations set up to highlight the ARTS!!

We also need some volunteers. Sign up to volunteer at the Bagley Arts Festival.
