Daniel Bagley Families Monday Message, June 3, 2024

Bagley Families,

Thanks for reading below for some school events and updates.

Summer Reading program options

School staff have compiled some summer reading opportunities around Seattle. Take a look here on the programs: summer reading opportunities.

Volunteer Need: After School Program Coordinator for 2024-25

If after-school programming is important to you and your family, please consider learning how you can help fill this crucial volunteer role!

Our After School Enrichment Program has grown this year to include a great variety of offerings – arts and crafts, dance, coding, trading card games, Lego engineering, and more! We owe a huge thanks to our current volunteer ASP Coordinator, Alinne, who has worked very hard to build up this program. Unfortunately, she is not able to continue in this role next year. Without a volunteer to take her place, we are in danger of losing many of our after-school enrichment opportunities for the 2024-25 school year. Contact Alinne at afterschoolprograms@danielbagleypta.org for more info.

We’ve launched our School Supply Fee Link for the 24-25 School Year.

Universal School Supply Payment Fee https://schoolpay.com/link/Supplies-2024

At Daniel Bagley we collect a suggested $50 per student. This fee will be used to purchase of the classroom supplies for every student, saving you a trip to the store and creating equity of supplies. If you pay more than $50, it will be used to support our student scholarship program.

Nectar News

The Nectar News is shared with students every Monday to educate and celebrate Bagley student news, identity, and expectations. Check your emailed update for the link.

Appreciations

Each week we share appreciations for our staff and adult community at Bagley in the Nectar News video. We would love it if families wanted to take some time to share a shout out at this link. Bagley Appreciations Link

Field Day is set for Friday, June 14:

Sign up to volunteer here

Bagley is so excited to host Field Day on campus again this year! There will be a few new stations and activities to make the day fun.

Each year we have some consumable items that we ask for parent donations for. There is an Amazon Wishlist link to purchase items from and we’re asking that all donations come in by Friday June 7th.

Accessible Ed Family Event

Please join us from 1:15 – 2:15 on Wednesday June 5th for our 2nd Accessible Ed Family Event.

Our goal for the event is give Accessible Ed families and children a time to play together and share a snack. Siblings are welcome to attend.  Please RSVP here.

We will meet in the gym after school for: Group Introductions and Open Gym time with some adaptive equipment.

News from Ms. Emily in the Library

Take a look at this grade level set of Seattle Public Library Summer Reading Suggestions compiled by the Northeast Seattle Public School Librarians.

Also, thank you to everyone who supported our Scholastic Book Fair, from volunteers to donations to purchases! It was a smashing success. We earned enough Scholastic credit for up to 200 new library-bound books for the next school year and supported over 55 students with sponsored books to keep.

For our final library event of the school year, we are holding our 2nd Annual Bagley Book Swap to get ready for summer reading! Do you have books that your children have grown out of? We would love to take your donations! Please send gently-used children’s books with your student or bring to the library or office. The Book Swap is June 13th, so please send donations by June 12th. Thanks for considering!

Lost & Found

Be sure to check out the Lost & Found, at drop off, pick up or on Field Day, to reclaim lost items. Any items not picked up by June 20th will be donated.
