Bagley’s Monday Message

Bagley Families,

By now you’ve seen that teachers have sent out sign-up requests for Parent Conferences. Thank you for taking time out of your schedule to make parent conferences a priority. Our staff find the information and partnerships that take place at these meetings to support meaningful growth for our students for the school year. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if the slots available don’t work for your schedule.

Nectar News

Every Monday teachers will show the Nectar News to share upcoming events, appreciations, and to educate and celebrate varied cultures and school expectations. Check your email/texts for the link.

Donations

Do you have an old iPhone that you no longer need? We are still looking for about 5 used iPhones that will connect to our wireless internet to use as translation devices. Please drop them off in the main office and thanks for considering!

From the Hootenanny to the Winter Swap Market and Movie Night: Friday December 2nd

I am so sorry I had to miss the Hootenanny! Over 1,000 folks attended, and the students told me they had a blast. Thank you again to Geraldine Haffie for spearheading this event and over 20 other volunteers that made the night a success!

Our next event is a Winter Movie Night and Swap Market. Our Winter Swap Market is a chance for all families to bring gently used clothing, toys and other gift items to school. We will set the items out ‘market style’ for families to shop for free winter gifts and clothing while their children are watching a movie. We’ll also have our Giving Circle gifts available for pick up or delivery on this night.

2022 Giving Circle – Request Forms Now Available

The Giving Circle is a confidential PTA program that provides an opportunity for Bagley families to help each other during our winter celebrations. We receive gift requests from Bagley families in need of support, then compile a wish list. Other Bagley families purchase the items requested, and the gifts are delivered to recipients just before the start of winter break.

To request gift assistance, complete the form below by November 14th. Paper forms will be going home this week.

Covid update

We had one positive case at our school this week. SPS’s COVID Dashboard will show district COVID trends. Thank you for keeping your children home if they have a COVID symptom, as described by the Department Of Health.

Global Reading Challenge

The Global Reading Challenge for 4th & 5th grades is officially launched! This is a partnership between Seattle Public Schools and the Seattle Public Library to put on a super fun reading competition for kids to enjoy books together and be part of a team. Our school’s competition will be on Feb 16th, 2023 at 8:30am.

We are asking interested students to read at least one of the books by the first week of December. For all 8 great titles and more.

For a few Daniel Bagley-specific details, check out Ms. Emily’s GRC book.
