    Dear Families,

    Thank you for your continued patience and perseverance as we continue to support our students in the remote learning setting while also staying safe/healthy and trying to balance all of the roles we are playing. Our community understands that this is a difficult time, let’s continue to be intentional in practicing empathy, and perspective taking as we support each in getting through this pandemic.

    January Community Assembly

    Tuesday, Jan. 26th, 9am
    This is an online event. 

    We plan to also include MLK Birthday celebration during our time together. If you have any last minute pictures, please feel free to send them to Mrs. Parker. 

    K-1 In Person Survey Updates

    We have received all parent input surveys and are scheduled to receive staff surveys later today. Planning for the March 1st date is dynamic due to the variety of factors influencing the final decision, including guidance from CDC, Department of Health, Governor’s office, and at the district level, teachers union begins bargaining with district next week. As we have more information, we will share details.

    Race and Equity Instructional Design Committee Updates- Update from Communication sub-committee-

    Our committee met last night and here are the updates from the sub-committees:

    Gathering Voices – we will be gathering student perspectives on their experience and held focus groups with Daniel Bagley alumni at Eagle Staff this month and will be meeting with current 4th-5th graders next month

    Communications – we will be updating the FAQ sheet at the end of each month taking in put from the emails we receive in the Unified Hive email.

    Program Planning – are in the process of developing a “teaching practices” document and a classroom configuration plan and should have more details to share after our meeting on 2/11.

    Neighborcare Health and Seattle Public Schools Present: Community Covid-19 Testing

    COVID-19 testing is available for all students, staff, family, and community members in this outdoor event. Everyone is eligible to receive a test regardless of insurance or immigration status. Testing is also FREE for everyone. We will bill your insurance if you have it, but will not charge a fee if you do not have insurance or your insurance does not cover testing. On-site interpretation services available through phone.

    Office of African American Male Achievement Listen and Learn Forums
    The Office of African American Male Achievement is launching our Listen and Learn forum in February 2021 to continue to listen to Black families as we reconstruct our educational system to celebrate the brilliance and excellence of Black boys and teens. AAMA is committed to the long journey of dismantling a legacy of systematic racism. We invite Black families to participate and collectively envision what an educational environment looks like for Black boys and teens to thrive. Learn more about the AAMA Listen and Learn Forums.
