    Weekly Update 10/30/20
    Posted on 11/10/2020
    Dear Daniel Bagley Families,

October has been a busy month with continued learning for all of us during our remote learning experience. It’s hard to believe November is almost here and I hope you and your family are starting to feel like you are in more of a routine and staying healthy and safe.

Here are a few updates for this week:

Family Conferences- will be coming up next month, we are scheduling - November 18th-December 2nd. Look for communication coming soon from your child’s teacher to schedule a time. There will be no online classes November 23rd-25th.

Elections- As your child’s principal I want you to know that together, we will create a safe, respectful learning environment next week – no matter the outcome of the elections. Educators have prepared guiding questions to facilitate students’ conversation, development of critical thinking skills and their own ideas.

I also want to offer resources for you to use at home to help with conversations about the 2020 election.
    • Common Sense Media, 17 Tips to Steer Kids of All Ages Through the Political Season with K- 5, Middle School and High School resources including a 30 second video
    • Common Sense Media, 5 Thing to Tell Your Kids About the Election

Finally, this is an unusual election season, and it may take longer than normal for the votes to be tallied. This may cause additional apprehension and stress for students and your family. Please take care of yourself and your loved ones. You can find health and wellness resources provided by trusted community partners here.

    (repeats from last week)

November Community Assembly – is coming up on Tuesday, November 10th at 9am. Be looking for a Teams Live link coming next Friday. In the meantime, please send us your current pictures.

School Pictures: Daniel Bagley has teamed up with Yuen Lui to offer our families a safe option for school pictures this fall. Yuen Lui has reserved Sunday, November 8th and Monday November 9th for Bagley families. Pictures will be taken at the Yuen Lui Studio at 924 NE 63rd St. in Seattle. To schedule your photo session, click HERE to select your date and time. To view and order picture packages, click HERE

If you need transportation assistance to get to the studio, or want to request a scholarship, please contact Denae Gordon, in the school office. dcgordon@seattleschools.org.

Giving Circle- If you are a family in need during the holidays, the Daniel Bagley community is here to help. The Giving Circle is a confidential program that receives gift requests from Bagley families in need during the holidays. Other Bagley families purchase the items requested and you take the gifts home just in time for the holidays.

To request assistance, please fill out the form in English or Spanish. You can also access the forms online on the PTA website. The deadline to submit the form is Monday, November 9.

Stay safe and have a good weekend!
