    Weekly Update 10/2/20
    Posted on 10/12/2020
    Dear Daniel Bagley Families,

Wow it’s hard to believe we have already landed in October! Thanks for all your patience and partnership in gaining momentum with our remote learning this fall. Here are a few updates for this week:

Updates from DB Race and Equity Instructional Design Committee – Last year our staff identified that having two separate programs has created a barrier to racial equity and inclusive practices at Daniel Bagley. Consequently, our BLT began discussing this further and we determined that we would convene a committee. The work was paused during the initial pandemic situation, but has now resumed with monthly meetings (starting in August.) Here is an overview of the work we are focusing on:
    • Shifting from choice enrollment process for Montessori which will be put forward to the school board for implementation in Fall 2021
    • Designing a school wide instructional model that builds on the strengths of our current programs (Montessori and Contemporary) while also referring to current best practices for supporting diverse learners in an inclusive learning community

We will continue to update you each month as the committee continues our work.
Direct Giving Campaign – update from PTA: The Bagley PTA's Fall Direct Give Campaign will launch Monday, October 12th. With all of the uncertainties in the world and steep learning curve of remote learning, this year we are planning for our largest fundraiser to be as easy as possible with a single donation button. Please look for more information to come next week in the Buzz, v-list, and Bagley Facebook.
